Patrons. Julian Burnside

Spark Engineering Camp is proud to announce the patronage of Julian Burnside, Australian barrister and human rights advocate. Julian’s letter of support is transcribed below:

4 March 2014
Spark Engineering Camp is an important initiative that has been well executed from the ground up.

Spark’s corporate partners are collaborating with the initiative’s passionate, young, wholly volunteer organising committee to identify and support promising future engineers from demographics that are under-represented in tertiary education.

Promoting diversity in the engineering industry through proactively supporting pathways to university is an admirable objective, and to do so through collaboration with young community leaders is commendable. And the more so when it is done in a manner that engages employees in skilled volunteering.

Spark represents the future of corporate community engagement, and I thank the companies which partner with Spark Engineering Camp for their investment in a diverse Australia.

Yours sincerely,
Julian Burnside
